چکیده

Abstract This study aimed to investigate the effect of different activations on properties bio-based activated carbons (BACs) for water treatment. BACs were produced via pyrolysis by carbonization stage and followed four activation procedures. Chemical included introduction metal oxides or alkali structure sawdust-derived BACs, resulting in iron-activated carbon (BAC-Fe), copper-activated (BAC-Cu), sodium-activated (BAC-Na). The physical was conducted a CO2 environment with usage two types locally available biomasses, husk-activated (HAC) wood-activated (WAC). Depending activation, can be developed high porosity, active sites, additional functionalities such as antimicrobial magnetic. adsorption natural organic matter (NOM) chemically yielded removal percentages (97, 87, 80% BAC-Fe, BAC-Cu, BAC-Na, respectively). physically demonstrated capacities dye – 278 mg/g WAC 213 HAC. outlines wide range BAC production possibilities advanced functionalities.

Removal of Pollutants with Activated Carbon Produced from K2CO3 Activation of Lignin From Reed Black Liquors

The activated carbon was prepared from fast precarbonization of reed lignin in the fluidized-bed followed by K2CO3 activation. The impregnation ratio was = 1:1 in this research. The effect of activation temperature upon the BET specific surface area and specific pore volume of the carbon was closely investigated. Increasing activation temperature led to an opening and widening of the porous str...
